DAY TWENTY-EIGHT
JULY 19
THE BERKSHIRE REGATTA
AT CAMP LENOX
"THE WINDS WERE NOTHING BUT A WHISPER FOR THOSE OPENING RACES," PINED FUTURE MKN WATERFRONT DIRECTOR AND TEAM CAPTAIN WILL PACKARD. AFTER A MID-TABLE START OUR MKN SAILERS GAINED MOMENTUM IN THE SECOND SET OF CONTESTS BEHIND A STANDOUT PERFORMANCE FROM TANGUY TALABARDON, JOSH ROSENBLUT, ANDREW GARBER AND JOEY SILBERFARB. THE TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP ALL CAME DOWN TO THE FINAL RACE WHERE MKN EDGED OUT CAMP DANBEE AND SECURED AN INCREDIBLE SECOND PLACE OVERALL FINISH. "WHAT A FANTASTIC EFFORT FROM EVERYONE. ASHER, TANGUY, WILL AND ANDREW EXECUTED SOME PIVOTAL MOVES IN THAT FINAL RACE," RAVED THE MINISTER OF SAILING ALEX TROKEL. THIS 2018 TEAM WAS JUST THREE POINTS SHY FROM RETURNING THE BERKSHIRE CUP BACK TO THE SHORES OF STOCKBRIDGE BOWL FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE CHRIS HYSLOP'S AMAZING 2005 RUN. WITH ALL SAILERS SET TO RETURN FOR THE 2019 SUMMER IT MAY FINALLY BE TIME TO MAKE EVERYONE'S DREAM A REALITY.
WHILE OUR SAILERS WERE BUSY TACKING AND JIBING OVER AT LENOX, ON THE HOMEFRONT MKN'S FINEST ARCHERS WERE UNDER PRESSURE TO DEFEND A TITLE THAT FOR THE PAST FIFTEEN YEARS HAS BEEN ALMOST AS CERTAIN AS OZZY SERVING CHICKEN FOR DINNER. FORTUNATELY THEIR INTENSE SUMMER TRAINING UNDER THE TUTELAGE OF MKN LEGEND ALAN RUDOLPH, PROPERLY PREPARED THEM FOR THE CHALLENGE, RUDY GAVE AN EXHUBERANT THUMBS UP TO ALL COMPETITORS BUT ESPECIALLY THE MKN SQUAD CONSISTING OF OF DIV 1 (TJC) JOSH SLOAN, SAM SMITH, AND JOSH PARK, DIV 2 (LSR) SAM BLUMBERG, MILES ERDOS, AND JONATHON GONZALEZ. DIV 3 (USR) CHARLIE BLUMBERG, EVAN EPSTEIN, AND ETHAN SAPIRE. DESPITE OUR FRIEND ASHLEY FROM DANBEE WINNING TOP HONORS, MKN CONVINCINGLY RETAINED THE TEAM TITLE. RUDY IS OPTIMISTIC ABOUT THE FUTURE WITH UPSTARTS DANIEL LESCH AND GEORGE SPALDING WAITING IN THE WINGS TO HELP LEAD NEXT SUMMER'S TEAM.
THE MAH-KEE-NAC
ARCHERY TOURNAMENT
THE BATTLE OVER WHOM MOUTHS WORDS BEST CONTINUES.
IT WAS NIP AND TUCK ALL THE WAY HOWEVER, THE 2018 LIP SYNC BATTLE CHAMPIONS ARE BUNK 20 WITH THEIR PERFORMANCE OF RICKY MARTIN'S "lIVIN LA VIDA LOCA" LED BY LUCAS MANDEL. BUNK 20 AVENGED THEIR 2017 SURPRISING DEFEAT AT THE HANDS OF T-MUSH AND BUNK 7. REVENGE WAS SWEET AS COUNSELOR PIERRE CHARKI AND THE BOYS CELEBRATED INTO THE NIGHT.
