THE OLYMPIC GAMES
AUGUST 4-8
THE 2018 MAH-KEE-NAC OLYMPIC GAMES BEGAN ON THE EVENING OF AUGUST 4TH WITH ALL OF THE CAMPERS & STAFF GATHERED ON DINING HALL HILL SPONTANEOUSLY SINGING "OLD MACDONALD HAD A FARM." tHIS ROUSING CHORUS WAS THEN SUDDENLY INTERRUPTED WITH THE SOUND OF LOW FLYING HELICOPTER BLADES AND A MYSTERIOUS VOICE.
AFTER SEVERAL LOW PASSES OVER THE CROWD, THE HELICOPTER HOVERED FOR A MOMENT ABOVE JUNIOR FIELD BEFORE SLOWLY LOWERING ITSELF TO THE GROUND. EMERGING WAS THE MASTER OF THIS YEAR'S GAMES, MR. CONNOR HEELAN. THIS YEAR'S GAMES WOULD SOLVE THE ANCIENT DEBATE OF WHETHER SUCCESS IN THE OLYMPICS WAS MERELY JUST A RESULT OF CHANCE OR WAS IT DEPENDENT ON THE CHOICES AND EFFORTS OF EACH TEAM'S ATHLETES AND COACHES.
FOLLOWING THE SILENT DISAPPEARANCE OF SIXTEEN COUNSELORS AND EIGHT SENECAS, CAMPERS AND STAFF WERE TOLD THEY WERE GOING TO PLAY A SELECTION GAME. SENECA CAPTAINS WOULD RUN TO DIFFERENT LOCATIONS ON CAMP WHERE THEY WOULD BE FACED WITH A CHALLENGE THEY COULD OPT TO PLAY BY COICE OR BY CHANCE. TEAM MEMBERS WOULD BE THEIR REWARD.

UPON THE COMPLETION OF THE GAME MASTER'S WISHES, ALL NEWLY FORMED TEAMS WOULD ENTER HIS ARENA FOR THE FINAL PLAY OF THE NIGHT. THE SENECA CAPTAINS WOULD NOW BE IN CHARGE OF THE SELECTION OF EACH TEAM'S DECATHLETE, HEAD AND ASSISTANT COACHES, AND THEIR NATION.

ONLY A TEAM MEMBER WITH QUICK HANDS AND A QUICK MIND WOULD BE ABLE TO GRAB CHOICE AWAY FROM CHANCE.
THE TEAMS WERE SORTED, THE COUNTRIES CHOSEN, AND THE SENECAS, DECATHLETES AND COACHES WERE PREPARED TO LEAD. THE OLYMPIC FLAME WAS THEN PRESENTED BY THE MOST LONGSTANDING MEMBER OF OUR MAH-KEE-NAC COMMUNITY, MR. ALAN (RUDY) RUDOLPH. THE FLAME WAS PASSED FROM SENECA TO SENECA AND THEN WAS BROUGHT TO THE TRIBE MEMBERS WITH THE MOST NUMBER OF YEARS, ALEX BEYER AND BENNY RAKOWER. TOGETHER, THE OLYMPIC TORCH WAS LIT AND THE 2018 GAMES WERE DECLARED OPEN.
