OLD FRIENDS, NEW FRIENDS,
AND ANY RIDICULOUS ITERATION OF FRIENDSHIP THERE HAS EVER BEEN.
OPENING CEREMONIES
"everything shines brighter when you are here. enjoy every opportunity that presents itself to you, enjoy every moment with each other."
and with the changing of those with the greatest responsibility for caring for the eighty-nine years of traditions, hopes and memories comes the agreement to uphold the founders' pact, "...in the course of the summer, in the sun and the rain, in stormy days and heat waves, i will remember: that each camper is different; that joy takes many forms..."
please rise, raise your hand and repeat after me.
i promise to have fun.
on the field, on the lake, and in the bunk, i will laugh.
with energy, humor, and respect, i will represent the very best of mah-kee-nac.
and with my friends, i hereby swear to make this summer extraordinary.
