FIFTY TWO CAMPERS AND COUNSELORS PARTICIPATED IN THE FIRST RACE WITH AN ADDITIONAL TWENTY FIVE TAKING PART IN THE WALKING AND CHEERING CLUB. RACE TWO WHICH CLOCKS IN AT 3.7 MILES IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER, ALL THE RESULTS HERE FIRST.
IT WAS AN EXCITING MORNING ON THE WATERFRONT AS HEAD OF FISHING CHARLIE SOSNICK AND HIS PROTEGE ALEX G. SPOTTED THE UNCATCHABLE CATFISH OF THE STOCKBRIDGE BOWL. WEIGHING IN AT OVER THIRTY POUNDS AND ALMOST TWO FEET IN LENGTH THIS FISH HAS ESCAPED THE HOOK AND SINKER OF CHARLIE SINCE HE WAS A CAMPER. THE FISHING CREW SEARCHED FAR AND WIDE BUT THEIR ONLY VICTORIES CAME IN MUCH SMALLER PACKAGES.
COACH BLAKE SINGER LED THE MKN CHEROKEE FOOTBALL SQUAD TO A THIRD PLACE FINISH IN THE ANNUAL MKN CHEROKEE BOWL. EIGHT CAMPS CAME TO COMPETE WITH MAH-KEE-NAC POSTING THREE VICTORIES OVER OUR RIVALS. SPECTACULAR PLAY WAS SHARED BY ALL WITH AN AMAZING DEFENSIVE PERFORMANCE BY KACEY BATTLE AND AN OFFENSIVE LED BY CAPTAIN AND QUARTERBACK ZACH SAMUELS.
THE EVENING BROUGHT SOCIALS, POOL PARTIES AND THE FIRST TJC CAMPOUT OF THE SEASON. THE GENTLEMEN DRESSED TO IMPRESS AS THE LADIES OF CAMP DANBEE ARRIVED READY TO DANCE TO THE SWEET BEATS OF DJ BODFREY. THE SENECAS AND THEIR JUNIOR BROTHERS HIT THE POOL FOR A NIGHT TIME COOL DOWN WHILE THE REST OF JUNIOR CAMP PITCHED THEIR TENTS, SHARPENED THEIR KNIVES AND TUNED THEIR VOCAL CHORDS FOR SONGS AND STEW AROUND THE CAMPFIRE.
