Yesterday was a beautiful, idyllic summer day and it all started with a a plunge. The polar plunge, to be exact.
The MKN Polar Plunge is a summer tradition that happens a few times a year. This was the first of 2021. Anyone who wants to try it is invited to wake up early and jump into the cold water. Any camper who does all of the summer's Polar Plunges gets a t-shirt to show for it!

Our daily activities were normal programming - sports, rock climbing, swimming, tubing, media and more all went as planned.
The leagues got together and competed in the afternoon - Upper Seniors played basketball, Juniors played football and Lower Seniors played soccer.
We had a delicious cookout for dinner, following by evening activities. TJC (juniors) played campus hide and seek, LSR played a game where the kids had to weave through an obstacle course while getting pelted with dodgeballs, and USR played handball then took it into a late evening game of "Prison Break". This delightfully named game entails the kids putting flags on while counselors would hide and try to tag them out with the flash light. If they could make it to the beginning of the course (the safe zone) without getting tagged, they would win.

The day concluded with a beautiful Friday night huddle. The theme of the evening was perseverance, which was apropos after the year we've all had!
