Wednesday is trip day (usually) here at MKN, whereby the kids visit local amusement parks, playgrounds, sporting events, beaches and more. Sometimes, the older kids go far beyond the local scene (more on that below).
Today the LSRs visited Lake Compounce - the first amusement park in North America and the nation's oldest, continuously-operating amusement park. That's right, parents, your kiddos are getting fun combined with a dose of American history on trip day. The park has everything you'd expect for a day filled with amusement - roller coasters, water rides, bumper cars, and games; and even some cool stuff you wouldn't expect- like a real 1911 trolley. Naturally, the kids had a great day!
Meanwhile, the Upper Seniors went to an MLS (Major League Soccer) game in Boston. They saw the New York City FC (Football Club) play the Charlotte FC. The final score was a tie, 1-1 and the game was tons of fun.
Our eldest campers, meanwhile, have headed south for the summer. The Senecas are currently in Costa Rica - surfing, hiking, hanging, and helping. We'll have more on their adventures later, but, needless to say, it's the trip of a lifetime.
