Breakfast was full of excitement today when the kids learned of their teams for "Founder's Cup". Founder's Cup is our summer-long competition, whereby every camper is divided into one of four teams -  Lilley, Kruger, Rudolph or Metzger.

Campers remain on the same team for the entire summer, and various competitions last throughout the season until a winner is "crowned" at the end of first session. So, keep an eye out for your child's team so you know who to root for. 

 

After brekky, we had some morning showers, so we took camp inside.

The younger kids happily played board games and card games in the dining hall while USR (the upper seniors) played dodgeball in the field house for the first half of the day.

Everyone was able to resume activities and lake play in the afternoon. Our soccer leagues began their team draft and sorting as well.

 

Evening activity was our first big Founder's Cup events. The boys broke into their teams to meet each other and learn their cheers. Then, the first competition began - it was a relay race of sorts (Special Events Director Greg creates our races, and thus they can not be held to any traditional names or descriptions). This one began with a tire pull then moved into a linked-arm-square-run, then the Senecas had to break a block of ice to get the team t-shirts. The final step was for each team to build a structure in order to raise their flag. Team Lilley took the big win for the night.
