Another gorgeous day at Camp Mah-Kee-Nac - sunny and bright.

 

The day was mostly filled with regularly scheduled activities. The kids are settling into camp and loving all of their fun and exciting adventures around our campus and on "The Bowl."

 

LSR leagues for basketball began today and we had some heated intra-camp competition.

 

The main day's excitement came during flag lowering, when we announced the official"sorting" for Green and White. G&W is our version of "color war" and takes place at the end of Session One. But, it all starts now when the kids find out their teams.

The campers were all moved to the Field House. Those who were on Green team last year were placed onto one side, while those on the White team were placed on the other.  The new campers were called to the middle - one by one, and reached into the "Sorting Hat." Each kid then found out their team for MKN life - Green or White.

​

Once the teams were divided, the Senecas played the first G&W game - bursting a watermelon with rubber bands. This is an extremely important skill that these boys will certainly use later in life. Green team took the big win!
