The big day is here, Summer 2026 at MKN has officially begun! 

 

Today was the first day of camp and we were so excited to see our returning and new campers arrive from far and wide.

​The buses and cars rolled in one by one, and by the afternoon, we had all of our boys on campus.

 

The campers were introduced to their bunks, their counselors and bunk mates, then they quickly went into play time on their "campus".

 

For all new parents, each age group has their own campus - TJC, LSR, and USR. To help you learn who is who and which ages go where, we've made a CAMPUS CHEAT SHEET, as you'll be hearing these phrases a lot through the summer.

Each age group has their own little "campus" - an area where all of the bunks are grouped around, and they can play and have free time outside.

 

TJC went straight to playing baseball, basketball, Gaga, and ping pong.  LSR was playing golf, basketball, pickleball, and just hanging out.  And LSR had their swim test at 3:30. Everyone passed! 
 

Evening activity was our first big "huddle". The huddles happen weekly, where everyone gathers around a big bonfire overlooking our beautiful lake. Usually, Jamie talks to the campers about a different topic each week, often acknowledging campers or staff who had a big accomplishment that week. 
Tonight we all watched the Mahkeenac 2026 welcome video. Then, we moved to the field house and, naturally...had a big dance party! Whether your kids are "dancers" or not, they will love the dance parties (which mostly consist of jumping up and down). We also had a big confetti canon and the energy and excitement was at an all-time high. 
After the party, USR (our upper seniors) had their own ice cream party in the dining hall.
