Today was our annual Founder’s Cup!!!

This year, we did things differently. Rather than dividing Founder's Cup into multiple events throughout Session One, we decided to do it all in one day!

In the morning, everyone got sorted into one of the four teams: Kruger, Lilley, Rudolph, and Metzger.

After the sorting, the first event began called, Behind Enemy Lines. This game incorporated flag belts and zones that each team had to defend.

The teams got points by taking enemies’ flags off their belts when the enemies entered their zone. Metzger took the lead early on, with Kruger not far behind.

The teams then moved onto a full-team Obstacle Course. Two teams raced against each other through various obstacles.

After lunch, the four teams played four-way - a game of free-for-all style soccer and ultimate frisbee happening at the same time. There are small groups within the teams that play and need to score in any of the goals besides their own. They play for a few minutes, then there is a whistle, and they have to switch to the other sport, so everything is constantly moving - those that are playing frisbee switch to soccer who switch to sitting and supporting their team from the sideline.

After Four-Way, the kids were split by campus onto different fields to play a game simply called "ball".
After dinner, we had flag lowering and then went to upper field to have our last competition. At that time, the standings were: Metzger, Kruger, Rudolph, then Lilley.

The final event was called Whatever It Takes. This is basically a big event that requires the teams to simultaneously do task by task against each other. The final task is to assemble your team’s flagpole and get your flag up to be winners. The race was close in the beginning, but ultimately, Metzger took the lead and became the 2025 Founder’s Cup Winners.
