THE NEWS

It was a gloomy day (weather wise) - rainy, windy and humid.

But we had enough clearings to finish our beach soccer game, which was intense till the end!

And we had a bunch of beach soccer specific kudos including:

• JP for creating their beach soccer team 

• Zach levin for being a good friend 

• Ryan king for scoring a goal on beach soccer team

• Tyler Adamson for leading the beach soccer team 
  Jacob for playing in so many beach soccer games​

The biggest event today, though, was the breakout of our 2026 Annual Mah-Kee-Nac Olympics!

As the campers gathered on upper field, they were surprised by pyrotechnics, lights, projections and of course, the huge Olympic trophy. 

The theme of the breakout was 1969 and "Back to the Future" because, as we went through our Olympic history, we found one mysterious year where we had no record of who won. So, the teams will have to bend space and time to help us figure it out.

Once it became clear we were in the midst of Olympic breakout, the team Captains, coaches, and Decathletes were announced for each team (the captains and decathletes are always from our oldest bunk, Senecas).

Then, each camper had to select from a hat to find out what team they were on.

As soon as the teams were divided and filled, we went straight to competition - running to a basketball game, solving puzzles and more.

• Donny for being a great friend and having a positive mindset 

• Chris (counselor) always having a positive mindset and going with the flow 

• Salal for being a good tennis partner

• Amber (staff) for always helping out
