Happy 250th Bday America!​

We hope all of your Independence Day celebrations were as fun as ours, but we doubt any were quite as grueling or competitive as ours (other than yesterday's World Cup soccer teams, sorry Canada)...

The day began as it always does, with our annual Tough Mudder, which goes from 10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Like we said, grueling. The Tough Mudder is an obstacle course comprised of 45 different stations, all covered in mud.

The bunks do the course together and no one can start the next station until the whole team has completed the previous one. Some of the challenges on the course include: a wall climb, a huge tire drag, an army crawl in the mud, various sprints, a baby-pool jump, beach-ball-rolls, tire jumps, hammering nails into logs, and more.

The entire endurance series spans 3.5 miles, and ends with the a big finale whereby each kid gets to run and "slip and slide" to the finish line.

When one team is done, they gather on the sidelines to cheer the next team proceeding through the course.

Once everyone had crossed the finish line, the campers got to cool off and clean up with a swim and victory celebration in the lake. 

After everyone was clean and rested, we eaded to TJC field
for Carnival! The boys competed in lawn games to win tickets, ate snow cones, fried dough, cotton candy and other fair delicacies, dunked their counselors in the tank, and had an overall great time.

That evening, they got to participate in a silent auction, where they could use compound the tickets each bunk had won at carnival, and use them to buy special treats and events like smoothies with Jamie, Director for a day, campus leader cleaning their bunk, omelettes with Rachel and a bedtime story from Ryan.
