THE NEWS

It was the first full day of Green and White and the energy was PALPABLE.

We started the day with a five-game rotation that included volleyball, basketball, soccer, Ultimate Frisbee, and Street Hockey. The teams were split into groups of four to six, and they would spend one minute playing each game before they rotated. The games took place continuously, so if one camper was playing volleyball and White team got a point, the minute would end and the next volleyball team would come on to try to beat the remaining players.

After a lot of dueling and back and forth, Green team won three out of the five games, so Green won the whole event. We then moved to a game with PVC pipes, where the teams were split into big circles, and had to hold two fingers on a pipe on the ground, and move either left or right to the next pipe, catching it before it hits the ground. With the majority of the circles won by Green, Green took the win for the PVC pipe event.

After lunch, we played a game of Elimination. For this game, we split everyone by campus, and they worked in smaller groups on a flag tag free for all, and one small team from each G&W team would be sent in to be the "last man standing". You get eliminated by losing one flag on your belt. Green won this event, too.

After Elimination, White came back with a vengeance in the Rope Race. During this, the G&W teams were split into smaller teams again, and each small team had to hold a rope to connect every member of their team. There were 30 teams in total, and 25 stations that they had to race through. When going from station to station, every member of the team had to be holding onto their rope. Like a huge relay race of obstacles and the teams could not drop the rope.

There were various activities, many of which consisted of getting very messy. There was glitter, confetti, pudding, syrup, and a lot more. After going through all 25 stations, the teams had to make their way back to the Lacrosse field, where they would put mentos in a Coke bottle and spray it all over their team, they had to toss a ball in a barrel, they had to fill up a helium balloon and tie it to a bucket, and then go sit. From the moment they got back to the Lacrosse field, they had to send one person from their team to go retrieve a “puzzle piece” from the Watermelon wall. When they had every member from their G&W teams come back, and they finished their puzzle, then teams' Senecas could then build a small fire to burn a small rope (practice for tomorrow's big rope burn). Once the rope was burned, they would run over to the buckets and balloons, and cut the balloons free. White team won this activity, with the Green team close behind.
After dinner, we tapped into the more creative side of our competition and broke into a program-style event. Talents including hair styling, Dancing with the Stars, “Prom-posals”, Acapella, Wooden Car making, Synchronized Dancing, Lego Building, t-shirt making, and MANY more. Everyone gave it their all!

Stay tuned for Sunday night's big rope burn, which you can watch LIVE at 9:30 p.m. on Instagram!
