We had an exciting day all around here at MKN!

The day began with our first polar bear plunge! Those brave enough to volunteer have to wake up early (around 7:30 a.m.) and jump into the chilly lake. Lots of campers and staffers participated in the fun morning wake up!

We also had quite a few tournaments. B5 (i.e. boys going into 5th grade) has a soccer tournament, B5 also had a basketball tournament, B7 had Flag Football, and B9 had Basketball.
Tournaments are all optional, and any sport the boys want to play, they can (I.e. no tryouts). All of the athetes gave their sport a full-team effort, and particular congratulations goes out to the B5 Soccer team who brought home a 2nd place trophy!
Evening activity was a BIG deal - it was our annual Green & White Sorting! Green & White is our yearly version of 'color war' and once you're on a team, you're on that team for life.
So, all of the new campers and staff had to approach the 'sorting hat', draw their team color, and were then welcomed with joy, cheers, lifting, (and lots of enthusiastic yelling) onto their new team.
To kick off the G&W spirit, the Senecas also participated in a a watermelon challenge where they had to pop watermelons open using rubber bands while racing. The green team won.
