FROM YOUR DIRECTORS

53 days ago we sat together talking about what the summer would bring. We wondered about the weather forecast and brainstormed rainy day ideas, we finalized the calendar and organized for trips. We crossed all our “t’s” and dotted all our “i’s,” and together we prepared for the storm of excitement that would arrive the next day.

 

Although we spend the entire year planning, the best part about our jobs is what we cannot plan. It’s impromptu mosh pits and water fights, “Stacy’s mom” serenades in the dining hall, and golf cart karaoke rides around camp. It’s Bunk 7 winning every special event and “On Saturday’s We Wear Pink” days. It’s coming home with multiple tournament trophies and laughing through our beloved Seneca “Wacky Mah-Kee-Nac-y.” It’s getting up on water skis for the very first time and completing the chip test at the waterfront.

It’s creating 2017 memories that will last a lifetime.

 

Today, as we sit here together and reminisce about all that we experienced this summer, we want to say thank you. Thank you for welcoming new ideas and keeping old traditions alive. We are proud of all that Mah-Kee-Nac 2017 had to offer and are excited for the future! As the seasons begin to change, so does our oath. Remember to follow it and represent our MKN community to your very best:
